Kampsville Summer Celebration will be here before you know it August 16. The fun begins with the Parade at 3 p.m., lineup at the Marvin Richter Ball Field. This years Grand Marshalls are the very deserving Kampsville American Legion. Following the parade will be the Flag Raising and National Anthem. On the stage we will have fun and game’s beginning at 4. Cookie Stacking, Cookie Eating, Watermelon Eating, Hula Hoop and more. At 6 pm we will have our Baby, Toddler, Little Miss and Little Mr. Kampsville Pageants followed by our raffles. We have a beautiful patriotic quilt made, and donated by Pat Gotway. We will have lots of baskets and we also have an amazing Kamaroo Farms experience for 4 (a $80 Value donated by Mike and Tammy Herren. We will finish our night with fireworks at dusk and the Pavilion will have the “Crypt Kickers “ playing music from 7-11.
Thank you to John Adams of Jersey County Auction for donating prizes for the kids games. We will have kids games. Bouncy house and everybody’s favorite the wobble wagon.

Always a favorite Summer event, Indian Creek VBS was held this past week with 115 in attendance . Great job Daryl and Lori Mortland heading this up.
It’s that time of year again Dick’s Riversides Annual Labor Day grill giveaway. This year’s grill is a 28 inch Blackstone with air fryer combo valued at $400. Stop in and sign up every day one entry per day. See the bartender for rules. Name and phone number must be printed legible. Drawing will be held at 7 p.m. on September 1 Labor Day. Need not be present to win.

Happy 8th Birthday to my grandson Ren on August 7 and also to Zia Giberson who also celebrated her 8th birthday on August 7.
Sympathy to Jeanette Bateman on the loss of her husband Lloyd. Lloyd and Jeanette are members of my church St.
John’s Lutheran. Lloyd was a great guy and will be missed. Sympathy the family of Rick Smith on his passing, please keep his son Rick and daughter Ginny and grandchildren please keep them all in your prayers and continue prayers for Connor Gilman, Kathryn Chapman, Isabel McGlaughin, Kurt Roth, Cindy Sievers, Kiera Sievers, Diane Rose, Luann Baalman, Mary Ann Gress, Billie Jo Eickmeyer, the Goode family, Chris Nichols, Joyce Blumenberg Margie Smith and Lisa Watters.
