Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday. Don’t forget to let your mom or the mother-figure in your life know how special she is! Give her a call, make her dinner, take her flowers or simply take an updated picture for both of you. I know it would make her day!
Congratulations to GP senior, Ty Leenerts, who was honored this past Sunday at the Western Illinois & Northeast Missouri Community Foundation Tea. Ty was awarded the following scholarships: Delford M. & Portia K. Richter Agricultural Scholarship; Eldred & Evelyn Whitmore Scholarship; and the Robert L. Adams Memorial Education Scholarship. Way to go, Ty, and best wishes on your future plans!
Detroit United Methodist Church will host a summer Bible study beginning June 9, at 6pm and go through July 21. The study is titled “Called” and will focus on discovering God’s purpose and calling in everyday life through the study of Scripture.
An eight-week Bible study exploring the life and faith of King David will also begin June 9 at 10 a.m. at the Pioneer Express in Perry. Everyone is welcome! For information on either study, please contact Pastor Robb at [email protected].
As spring continues, gatherings of all types are taking place. I’ve seen Prom pictures, dance recital pictures, end-of-school events and ceremonies. If you plan to attend one of these gatherings soon, be sure to take it all in. Enjoy the company and laughter of those around, whether friends or family. These are the happy moments in life and shouldn’t be taken for granted. Life can change in an instant. Be sure to be kind and be present in each and every moment!
