Because of the devastation of Hurricane Ida in the state of Louisiana, a semi trailer will be out at the Crossing Thrift Store parking lot in west Pittsfield this Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. to receive donations that will be taken to Louisiana. If the trailer gets a full load before either of these dates, it will not be there, and will be on to its destination. Donations could be canned goods, cleaning supplies, dishes, clothes of all sizes, toys, furniture, water, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, kleenexes), hygiene products, shoes, money for fuel to get the truck there and back and food for the driver, etc. Please, folks, no junk. Contact Bob Evans with any serious questions.
St. Mary’s in Pittsfield will again offer classes on the Catholic faith to begin Monday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Parish Hall. Anyone interested may attend. The instructor will be Father Mark Schulte. The class will cover the Creed, 10 commandments, the Sacraments, the Mass, and other Catholic teachings. Classes will be every Monday evening until Easter. If you have questions, please call the Parish office at 217-285-4321.
