Trivia Answers from Last Week:
1. What was the original name of the Willis Tower in Illinois? (Sears Tower)
2. What four states can a person see from the Willis Tower Skydeck? (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan)
3. Which city in Illinois was the first in the country to install street lighting? (Aurora) A bull, an angel, and a gun
There was once a bull owned by a very nice man. This bull was several years old and was even so very calm that he was shown at fairs and such and was even harness broke to ride. He was well taken care of and was easy to be around. This same bull started acting a little aggressive, getting a little worse every week for the past few weeks. One day the man took something away from the bull that the bull was really wanting to tear up. The man walked away from the bull with the object and the bull wanted no part of that and charged at the man knocking him down and attacking him. The man broke away one time and headed down the fence only to be knocked down again by this extremely mad bull who started once again beating the man showing no mercy. And even though the man had his cell phone with him, he couldn’t exactly stop to make a phone call for help. All at once, someone drove by, stopped when he saw the man was in trouble, and jumped out of his vehicle to go to the man’s aid. The man screamed for him to shoot the bull which is what this person did plus he also called 911 for an ambulance and he stayed with the man until the ambulance arrived. Hence, this person, who the man had no idea who he was, became known as the man’s “Angel”. And, yes, he used a gun or this man would have been tortured to death and we would not know this story, which by the way, folks, is all true. The man spent several days in the hospital, and is now at home still recuperating.
A couple weeks before Christmas, my furnace started acting strange. And when that ferocious cold snap hit our area, it quit big time. Everyone was having problems and repairman in our area were scarce. So I got online and started calling, putting my name and phone number out there for when they were available to help, to give me a call. God blessed me when I called a company in Jacksonville. The receptionist told me that they had a repairman in Meredosia and she would call him to call me. As soon as he was done in Meredosia, he called and came right over, fixed the furnace in no time flat. And the cost was extremely reasonable. Yes, I contacted all the others that had my number, and explained the problem had been fixed.)
Read a book recently that I have read before that I recommend for Christmas time of year called Two From Galilee by Marjorie Holmes.
Contracted a strange bug around a week ago. I started with a sore throat and ear pain so figured it was either strep throat or sinuses. Turns out it was my sinuses, but I’ve never had sinus problems cause me voice issues. Thankfully, I have never been contagious, but I do enjoy talking (no remarks, people) so my voice is very much missed.
