Firefighter donates his 50/50 winnings to the GFD
Thank you to all who played a part in the Griggsville Apple Festival this past weekend! It was a great success, despite the rain that moved Saturday’s evening events to the high school. I want to give a shout out to Lance Bloyd whose name was drawn for the 50/50 raffle. Half of the proceeds from that raffle were to go to the Griggsville Fire Department and the other half to the ticket winner. Lance most graciously donated his half back to the fire department giving the department close to a thousand dollars. This money will go toward an upgrade in turnout gear for the volunteer firefighters. Lance is a firefighter himself and knows the importance of updated gear. Thanks to all who purchased a raffle ticket.

Lots of stories and laughs were had with Marty Witham, Roseanne and Jennifer Craven, Debbie and Andy Dugan, Lori, Genny, Raegan and Emoree. Sounds like a yummy celebration! Happy Birthday, Sadie!
The Griggsville High School Class of 1963 celebrated their 60th class reunion Saturday. The class gathered at the high school for a tour led by Superintendent Jeff Abell and Board President Eric Kunzeman. Lots of stories were shared as they walked through the hallways of the school. Once the tour ended, the group continued their reunion festivities at the home of Bob and Janice Barton in Pittsfield. A great time was had by all!
