Hello on the first week of November, hoping you are all enjoying the brisk mornings as we’ve been waiting on this! Definitely frost on the pumpkin kinda days!

It’s a nice Fall Day in Calhoun County. There has been a little rain but not very much. People are turning on their furnaces, or wood burners especially as the evening and night approach.

It’s always a great week to be a Warrior! The Calhoun Warriors finished out their season undefeated with a 9-0 record Friday night under the lights and a 21-12 win over Brown County. GP’s National Honor Society is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive today from 8:30am-1:30pm in Nichol Gymnasium. Congratulations and Best Wishes to Shirley and Mike Straus who were happily wed on October 18th in Pittsfield. They are making their home in Perry, Illinois. The Buggs’ Family Opry in Pearl will be having a show this Friday, October 24, starting at 7:00. Admission is $10 each, and everyone is welcome.

This is the week that we have been waiting for. The much-needed rain started mid-morning in Calhoun County. It rained heavily with a breeze in the air, then slowed down for a while, and then came back in midafternoon.
