The snow and cold weather kept some of us snowbound within our roads and hollers. The main roads opened faster. All is getting back to being a normal commute. The sunshine and the higher temperatures are good. We’re all ready to be out and about. and are hoping for an early Spring.

Weather in this area is still changeable, making it hard to know what to wear from one day to the next. At least it stayed above freezing and by end of week up to 49.

Our Village suffered a loss this weekend. Everyone’s favorite “good ole guy” Brent “Whitey” Laux passed away.

The City of Griggsville is selling bricks to help raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park. Forms are available on the City’s website at www.griggsville-il.org. It was a very wet and snowy week. The heavy snow was hard to drive through for workers, The kids enjoyed the snow and playing, and sledding. Our Road Dept. has been working hard to keep our roads clear. We thank them for their hard work. Another light snow is predicted for the weekend.

We are still pretty frozen here in Kampsville and pretty much everywhere. But Spring is just around the corner. Well the temperatures have frozen the river and the Kampsville Ferry is closed for now. Of course, when the ferries closed, those guys just aren’t sitting still. There’s a lot of work that they have to do on the side to keep everything running smoothly. They are all hard workers and a great crew.

The Logan Agri-Service Veterans Memorial Park fundraiser ends this Saturday! Be sure to fill up your tank one more time before Saturday as Logan Ag will donate three cents per gallon of gas from all retail sales (Griggsville site only) to the Memorial Park being built. Thanks so much, Ed and crew!

The weather conditions were cold, and snowy over the weekend into Monday. The frigid temperatures and slick roads kept many of the Calhoun resident’s home. The church services were limited.
